Building pictures

Dormer from above. Fiberglass ready for the tongue and groove decking. I have got an order in and they should have the boards out to me by the end of the week!

Dormer framing from the inside. Roger, looking at a hard day's work on the ladder, getting ready to cover it with a tarp.

Dormer almost all done. The outside two rafters are just 2x8 tails from the wall framing with half round logs nailed to them to give them the appearance of log rafters. If you look close you can see the 2x8's on top of the half round log.

Dormer framing finished. Osb in place on the outide with a tar paper covering. Now we need to rip log siding from the left over house logs to cover the dormer with.

Decking from the west side of the cabin.

Vapor barrier over the back half of the roof.

Whoops! ran out of tongue and groove. The back three sections completely done and the front one half way done. The dormer framing has begun. Enough work for this day... tomorrow should see more working and less figuring. ~D.P.

The two top sections of roof and back section of roof decked out all in one day with the help of 8 boys and 3 other men helping. The gap in the front is for the dormer.

2x8 Tongue and Goove decking in place over the log rafters.

Log rafters in place.

Load of lumber for roof framing, and a potable water tank to put in the basement. The tank had a 1/2" to spare fitting through the basement door after taking all the framing off.

Three weeks ago I fell 10' on a 12' ladder and was fine. Then two weeks ago I was stepping off the stepladder and rolled my ankle on a little block of wood in the sawdust. It popped pretty loud and swelled up and bruised worse than any I've ever had.

Perlins and ridge pole in place.
